Qualifications and experience

BEng/BSc Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)

0- 5 years relevant experience

Passion for mechanical, automation, control systems and industrial processes

Professional registration with ECSA, or active progression towards registration, will be advantageous.

Exposure to any of the following will be advantageous

• Water and wastewater treatment processes

• Exposure to mechanical equipment associated with water

infrastructure

• Exposure to PLC programming and SCADA Systems

• Instrumentation and control for process optimisation

• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)

• Process control philosophy

• Data acquisition systems

• Digital twins

• Industrial IoT

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist with::

• Selection and specification of mechanical process equipment

• Integration and coordination of mechanical, electrical and

instrumentation systems.

• Development of equipment specifications and datasheets

• Assisting with hydraulic assessments, equipment sizing and

process optimisation.

• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and performance verification of treatment facilities.

• Investigation and optimisation of existing treatment plants to improve reliability, operability, energy efficiency and lifecycle performance.

Responsibilities will increase as experience and competence develop.
