POSITION INFO

Our client is a well-established supplier of prepaid water and electricity metering solutions in South Africa, delivering reliable utility management products and technology to the residential, commercial, and trade sectors. We are seeking a high-performing External Sales Representative to drive new business acquisition and manage key trade accounts. In this role, you will call on hardware stores, electrical wholesalers, contractors, and developers to secure retail stockists and expand brand presence across Johannesburg and Pretoria. Key Responsibilities Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities across building supply stores, hardware retailers, and electrical wholesalers. Secure and onboard new retail and wholesale stockists to carry the prepaid meter product range. Build strong relationships with building contractors, property developers, and trade specialists to secure bulk orders. Plan, structure, and manage your own daily call cycles and customer visits effectively. Provide ongoing account support, product training, and relationship maintenance to ensure recurring sales. Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and revenue growth objectives. Requirements Proven track record in external sales, technical sales, hardware sales, or tool distribution. Prior experience calling on hardware stores, electrical wholesalers, or trade contractors is highly beneficial. Valid South African driver's licence (essential). Strong business development, negotiation, and deal-closing capabilities. Willingness to travel regularly across Johannesburg and Pretoria. Attributes Self-disciplined and capable of working independently. Resilient, target-driven, and highly persistent. Excellent communication and client-relationship building skills.
