SUMMARY

Our client a manufacturer of screens,shutters, awnings and blinds is urgently looking to employ a reliable, semi- skilled, and customer-focused Junior Installer / Technician.

POSITION INFO

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a range of screening and shutter products at residential and commercial properties while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service. Location: Wynberg, Sandton Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Minimum 1-3 years' experience in installation of shutters, security screens, blinds, aluminium products, glazing, or similar building products. Experience using hand and power tools. Experience working on residential and commercial sites. Valid South African driver's licence (Code B) Technical Skills Ability to read tape measures and technical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude. Competent in drilling, fixing, levelling, and alignment. Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous (for motorised shutters or blinds). Ability to troubleshoot installation issues. Understanding of aluminium fabrication is beneficial. Key Responsibilities Install security screens, retractable screens, roller shutters, aluminium shutters, blinds, and related products according to company standards. Read and interpret measurements, drawings, and installation specifications. Conduct on-site assessments and prepare work areas for installation. Perform servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on existing installations. Ensure products are installed accurately, securely, and neatly. Test installed products to ensure correct operation before handover. Identify and report any site-related issues or installation challenges. Complete installation documentation, job cards, and customer sign-offs. Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order. Load and unload products safely and responsibly. Follow all company health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and professional work environment at customer sites. Represent the company professionally and provide excellent customer service. Work collaboratively with the sales, operations, and manufacturing teams. Assist with warehouse duties and stock handling when required. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Quality of installations. First-time installation success rate. Customer satisfaction. Productivity and completion of scheduled jobs. Compliance with health and safety standards. Care of company tools, equipment, and vehicles. Low rate of installation defects or callbacks.
