Millwright Technician (Mechanical & Electrical)

This opportunity is not a remote/hybrid working position and requires a dedicated full-time resource at the office – Monday to Friday / Standby – 1 Week a Month

Requirements

• Completed Matric – essential
• A basic undergraduate Degree (e.g., in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field) is a plus
• Own transport with a valid drivers license – a must have
• Must be willing to travel regularly, including to remote client sites
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in a similar Millwright role, with exposure to both mechanical and electrical systems
• Must be well spoken and able to engage with high level decision makers
• Fluent in English. Proficiency in Afrikaans would be a plus
• Strong communication and reporting abilities
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious
• Must be comfortable working in industrial environments, including cement plants and other dusty or dirty conditions
• Familiarity with safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Electrical experience must include PLC fault finding, panel wiring, and motor control systems
• Background in bulk material handling machinery, including maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installation is a plus
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Skilled in both preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical components
• Electrical experience must include PLC fault finding, panel wiring and motor control systems

The Position: We’re looking for a highly skilled Millwright Technician to be based permanently in Longmeadow, Edenvale. The pay range on offer is a CtC (benefits included) between R35 000.00 to R40 000.00 Per Month, based on skills, tech experience and qualifications plus weekly standby allowance.
