Location: Bloemfontein Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with strong operating theatre experience to join a specialised ophthalmic surgical team. This opportunity is ideal for a scrub nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced theatre environment. Minimum Requirements Registered Nurse qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) Minimum of 5 years' operating theatre experience with proven competency as a Scrub Nurse Excellent knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation Diploma in Operating Room Nursing Science (Theatre Technique) will be advantageous Experience in ophthalmic surgery will be advantageous; however, experienced theatre scrub nurses willing to develop ophthalmic skills are encouraged to apply Key Responsibilities Scrub for ophthalmic surgical procedures Manage and maintain specialised surgical instruments Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and theatre protocols Support efficient theatre operations while maintaining patient safety Participate in an emergency on-call roster (emergency cases only) Key Competencies High attention to detail and surgical precision Ability to anticipate surgeons' needs during procedures Strong teamwork and communication skills Quality-focused with excellent organisational skills Ability to perform effectively under pressure IMPORTANT: Applications close 31 July 2026 .
