Our client in the refrigeration Industry, requires the services of an Operations Manager to join their team. This individual will provide strategic leadership across Finance Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal Compliance & Facilities

Key performance areas

Administration & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee HR, IT, legal, compliance, and facilities functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Design and implement scalable operational processes and internal controls
  • Partner with department heads to align administrative resources with strategic priorities
  • Drive organisational efficiency initiatives, cost optimisation, and vendor management

Financial leadership

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic financial modelling
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Manage cash flow, treasury, banking relationships, and capital structure
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements
  • Present financial performance and strategic insights to the CEO/Directors

Strategic Partnership

  • Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on all matters of strategy and operations
  • Provide data-driven insights and scenario analysis to inform key business decisions
  • Represent the company externally with banks, investors, auditors, and government agencies

Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks and governance policies
  • Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies
  • Develop and maintain business continuity and risk mitigation plans

General Management of Departments

  • Provide direct line management and strategic oversight to relevant departments including Finance, HR, and Inventory Management.
  • Set clear departmental objectives, KPIs, and performance targets aligned to the company overall strategic plan
  • Conduct performance reviews with department heads, providing coaching, feedback, and development support
  • Ensure departments are adequately resourced, structured, and equipped to meet their operational mandates
  • Report on departmental performance, risks, and resource requirements to the CEO on a regular basis

The successful candidate must have

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (B.Com. Accounting), Bachelor of Accounting (B.Acc.), Business Administration, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA), is preferred qualification
  • Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment
  • Must have experience working with an ERP system
  • Professional membership or affiliation with recognised accounting bodies such as CIMA, SAIPA, or SAICA will be advantageous
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking, strategic planning ability, and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to mentor, develop and support staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
