Senior Java Developer (Financial Markets)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to play a leading role in the design, architecture, and development of enterprise-grade Capital Markets applications. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, quantitative analysts, and development teams to deliver robust, scalable trading technology.

The role involves designing technical solutions, mentoring developers, and contributing to the strategic evolution of our trading platform.

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale Java solutions for Capital Markets platforms.

• Define technical architecture and solution designs that are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

• Provide technical leadership throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, from requirements analysis through production deployment.

• Design and develop high-performance trading, pricing, valuation, market data, and risk management applications.

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, quantitative analysts, traders, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Lead technical investigations, architecture discussions, and solution reviews.

• Mentor, coach, and support developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.

• Drive engineering best practices including coding standards, testing, CI/CD, performance optimisation, and secure software development.

• Review application performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and scalability improvements.

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues.

• Ensure software quality through effective design reviews, automated testing, and adherence to development standards.

• Contribute to strategic technology decisions and the continuous evolution of the organisation's trading platforms.

• Work closely with DevOps teams to support deployment automation and production stability.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and development approaches where appropriate.

• Assist in project estimation, technical planning, and delivery management.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence across the development team.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline

• Minimum 7 years' Java development experience
