Job Purpose

To manage 3 Production Plants within the operations to achieve operational objectives of the budgeted quantities, qualities, and cost effectiveness in a safer manner. Responsible to manufacture bread to the right specifications and quality – on time and in full, also ensuring a high-performance culture, driving the Premier Way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of stock receiving, rotation and issuing
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • All items issued from the Store must be recorded in the file and checked daily.
  • Supervise staff to ensure they are fully productive and manage their time and attendance.
  • Clear daily production from factory floor.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Chamber of Baking certificate – Essential
  • Matric Equivalent or similar related qualification would be considered.
  • 3-5 Years FMCG Plant Bakery Production Management experience (plant size minimum of 5000 loaves per hour)

Skills and Competencies

  • Bakery process quality requirements and standards.
  • Management and leadership principles and practices including IR Related matters.
  • Function of raw materials and quality, especially flour.
  • FSSC22000 Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Deciding and initiating action, planning and organising within a pressurised environment.
  • Working with people, presenting and communicating information as well as networking.
  • Adhere to principles and values.
  • Analysing, relating interpretation and presenting of analysis.
  • Coping with pressures and setbacks.

Working Conditions

  • Pressurized environment.
  • Must be able to work shifts.
  • Required to work Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
  • Overtime expected from time to time.
