Managed Services Manager

A leading engineering and industrial services organisation is seeking an experienced

Managed Services Manager to take ownership of a growing Managed Services portfolio. This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial growth, financial performance, and client satisfaction across both client-operated sites and Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) assets

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Own and manage the performance, profitability, and growth of the Managed Services portfolio. Ensure all managed service sites operate safely, reliably, and in line with contractual obligations and performance standards. Develop and convert new managed services opportunities, including BOOM and asset-based service models. Build business cases, commercial proposals, and sustainable operating models. Lead client relationship management, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance reviews. Oversee operational performance, including production, uptime, throughput, and operational efficiency. Manage portfolio financial performance, including revenue, margins, costs, ROI, IRR, and asset utilisation. Drive operational improvements and intervene in underperforming operations. Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, Life Cycle Services (LCS), and Sales teams to ensure integrated service delivery. Establish and maintain portfolio reporting, performance dashboards, and management systems. Requirements Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management, or a related field. Proven experience managing industrial operations, managed services, or operational contracts. Strong commercial acumen with experience developing business cases and managing P&L responsibilities. Demonstrated success in business development, opportunity conversion, and contract management. Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships. Knowledge of asset-based service models, BOOM structures, or similar operational environments will be advantageous. Strong leadership, negotiation, financial management, and strategic planning skills. Key Success Indicators Reliable and compliant operation of managed service sites. Achievement of financial performance and profitability targets. Growth of the Managed Services portfolio through successful conversion of new opportunities. Strong client relationships and long-term contract retention. Effective utilisation and performance of BOOM assets. Development of a structured, scalable Managed Services function.
