SHEQ OFFICER

Our client in the automotive and industrial industry is seeking an experienced SHEQ Officer to join their team based in Durban. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with a strong background in health, safety, environmental, and quality management who is passionate about driving compliance and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with SHEQ legislation and company standards, managing the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, conducting quality control activities, supporting operational teams with SHEQ best practices, and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in SHEQ or a related field
• Chemistry qualification advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar SHEQ role within an automotive and industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Sound knowledge of COIDA, OHSA, and relevant SHEQ legislation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
