Job Purpose

Ensuring achievement of line production targets and efficiencies of the production line for which the Production Supervisor is responsible, includes the managing the line in terms of quality, cost, delivery, safety & morale.

Key Responsibilities

The core functions define the key areas of responsibility for this role, reflecting the accountabilities and expected outputs outlined in the competency-based profile. These are the primary activities through which the role delivers value to the business.

  • Carries out the assigned production line, process parameters, measurements and cleaning requirements according to the approved work instructions/recipe/packaging requirements etc. and sets the equipment with operators accordingly
  • Ensures that planned volumes are achieved with the main KPIs being achieved
  • Manages labour resources allocated to the production lines
  • Manage the 1st line maintenance of the production line with machine specifications and SOPs
  • Generate job cards and ensure that downtime is at its minimum
  • Conduct weekly/monthly stock takes
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts
  • Initiate and identify gaps within relevant production lines and drive continuous improvement

Experience And Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Relevant bakery industry experience

Working Conditions

  • Pressurized environment
  • 6-day position
  • Required to work Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays as per shift roster
  • May be required to work on a rotating 12-hour shift which includes night shift
