DevOps/Software Engineer (CIB Stack) Location Gauteng, Johannesburg Job Type Contract - Full-Time hours Job Description This role requires the design, development, deployment and maintenance of software solutions within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) technology stack. The successful candidate ensures the reliability, scalability and security of development pipelines and infrastructure by implementing DevOps best practises. The role involves collaboration with multiple teams to streamline software delivery, optimise system performance, and support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. Job Duties Migrate repositories and pipelines from AWS to GitHub/Octopus. Troubleshoot pipeline failures Working CI/CD pipeline for applications, infrastructe, databases and backend services. Required Qualifications Proven experience in DevOps or software engineering roles within the banking or financial services sector. Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and lifecycle management. Experience with configuration management, containerisation and orchestration technologies. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services) and hybrid cloud environments. Understanding of networking concepts, security protocols and infrastructure design. Competence in working with databases and middleware components commonly used in CIB technology stacks. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, regulated environment. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant professional certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, or software development are advantageous. Experience A minimum of five years' experience in software engineering or DevOps roles, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. Demonstrated experience in managing and deploying complex enterprise applications. Experience working with Corporate and Investment Banking technology stacks is highly desirable. Knowledge and Skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently within a demanding environment. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Knowledge of IT governance, compliance and regulatory standards applicable to banking technology.
