POSITION INFO

Our client in the mining sector is recruiting a Senior Layout Designer to join their team to support major mining and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary project delivery team and play a key role in the development of plant layouts and 3D models for large mining and mineral processing facilities. This role requires strong experience in plant layout design, 3D modelling, and interdisciplinary coordination, supporting projects from concept through detailed engineering. Key Responsibilities

• Develop plant layout designs for mining, mineral processing and heavy industrial facilities
• Produce and review 3D models and layout drawings using engineering design software
• Ensure layouts support safe operations, maintenance access and constructability
• Coordinate layout requirements across mechanical, piping, civil and structural disciplines
• Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary engineering coordination meetings
• Ensure layout deliverables comply with project specifications and engineering standards
• Support preparation of engineering drawings, documentation and design reports
• Mentor and guide junior designers where required
• Assist project teams in resolving layout and design interface challenges Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience in plant layout design within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry Strong experience using 3D plant modelling software (SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar) Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering coordination Experience working within EPCM or large engineering project environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience working on large mining or mineral processing facilities Experience mentoring junior designers Exposure to EPCM project environments Experience working within global engineering consulting environments
