Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner

The ECD practitioner will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children, fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive development. The teacher must have a deep understanding of early childhood education, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing a safe and supportive space for children to thrive.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the principles of early childhood education
• Implement the curriculum that focuses on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire young learners

Classroom Management

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Use effective behavior management for respect and cooperation
• Encourage collaboration and teamwork for a sense of community

Assessment and Progress Tracking

• Continuously assess each child's progress
• Keep accurate records of achievements and areas for improvement
• Communicate effectively with parents about their child's development

Parental Involvement

• Build rapport with parents through regular communication
• Hold conferences to discuss children's development and concerns
• Offer resources for home learning support

Safety and Well-being

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom
• Implement health and safety protocols in accordance with regulatory standards
• Respond promptly to any safety concerns and communicate effectively with parents and administrators

Qualification and Experience

• NQF level 4 Certificate in ECD
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience
