SUMMARY

We are recruiting for a Sever Engineer (Senior) role.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Windows and Linux server environments. Lead the design and administration of virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent platforms. Architect and manage hybrid infrastructure integrating on-premises systems with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, certificate services, and identity management solutions. Design and maintain high-availability, clustering, load balancing, and failover solutions. Lead server lifecycle management, including hardware refreshes, operating system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives. Design and manage enterprise backup, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Optimize server performance, capacity, storage, and resource utilization across the infrastructure estate. Implement server security best practices, hardening standards, privileged access management, and vulnerability remediation. Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable. Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting complex server, virtualization, storage, and operating system issues. Collaborate with cloud, network, security, and application teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions. Develop and maintain technical standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation. Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and operational excellence. Evaluate emerging server and infrastructure technologies and recommend improvements aligned with business objectives. Qualifications and Experience: National Diploma in IT or Certificate (NQF 6) or equivalent Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / CompTIA Server+. Microsoft Azure Administration. 5-8+ years of experience in server administration, infrastructure engineering, or systems engineering. Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux enterprise operating systems. Strong experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, VMware vSAN, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Nutanix. Experience with enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS), backup solutions, and disaster recovery platforms. Experience integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
