Production Support Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced mid-level technical support specialist to join our team in Claremont, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all trading and custody related applications for the Velocity Financial Services business. Part of the production support team who is the first line support for all requests and incidents relating to our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage technical queries and requests to resolution, with a high level of industry knowledge, excellent service and communicates effectively with all stakeholders and 3rd party providers
• Manage queries according to severity and priority, delegate and collaborate as required with a strong sense of time management
• Monitor system notifications and alerts to ensure systems are functioning correctly, follow processes and escalations as required
• Manage key areas of Velocity systems such as instruments, pricing, market data, trade routes, system configuration for users and clients, reporting, integrations and others
• Conduct investigations, troubleshooting and testing analysis on all components of the system as required
• Any other duties that are required of the role

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent, tertiary education preferable
• At least 2 years’ experience in a trading and/or technical support related role
• Proficient in MS Office, APIs, SQL, and any other coding language is an asset
• Strong understanding of global securities trading, foreign exchange and margin products
