Contract Duration: Five (5) years fixed-term contract

Grade: G

Number of Positions: One (1)

Job Summary

Provide safe administration of anaesthesia by assessing patients pre-operatively, monitoring them during surgery, and ensuring safe recovery following procedures.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Postgraduate qualification in Nurse Anaesthesia/Anaesthetic Nursing from a recognised institution.
• Current registration with the relevant nursing regulatory authority.
• At least two (2) years’ post-qualification experience as a Nurse Anaesthetist will be an added advantage.
• Sound clinical knowledge and competence in administering anaesthesia.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anaesthesia safely and effectively for surgical and medical procedures.
• Assess patients before anaesthesia and develop appropriate anaesthetic care plans.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anaesthesia, ensuring prompt recognition and management of complications.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Prepare, inspect, and maintain anaesthesia equipment and medications.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and anaesthetic documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety protocols, and hospital policies.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the position.
