Bluff - Take the lead in a dynamic retail butchery environment where your butchery expertise and people management skills can truly shine! We are looking for a driven Butchery Manager to oversee operations, quality standards, and staff performance on the Bluff.

POSITION INFO

A prominent and expanding fresh food retail business providing high-quality fresh meats, produce, and supermarket products to local communities in KwaZulu-Natal. As the Butchery Manager for the Bluff branch, you will take full operational responsibility for the supermarket butchery and butchery plant, ensuring seamless daily execution, stock control, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Drive sales and departmental profitability by managing financial targets and daily, weekly, and monthly GP reporting. Manage stock levels, product range availability, daily ordering schedules, and weekly inventory counts. Supervise supplier orders and coordinate timely product deliveries. Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and sanitation protocols. Calibrate scales regularly and maintain accurate weights, pricing, and point-of-sale entries. Direct, mentor, and performance-manage a team of at least 45 employees across the butchery and processing plant. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of product quality. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in butchery management (retail background preferred). Demonstrated experience supervising teams of 30 or more employees. Solid technical knowledge of meat processing, stock control, and retail butchery operations. Proven understanding of butchery financials, pricing, and gross margin optimization. Butchery or food production qualifications are advantageous. Attributes Solution-oriented leader who inspires team productivity. Direct and effective communicator with strong time management skills.
