Training program directory
Health Management Information Systems
- Provide technical oversight for the implementation and strengthening functionality of national HMIS systems.
- Support definition of the systems requirements for development, enhancement, and maintenance of electronic health information systems, including DHIS2, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), and other national digital health platforms.
- Promote interoperability and integration of health information systems to improve data availability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with national stakeholders to strengthen digital health initiatives and information system governance.
Data Quality and Data Use
- Support institutionalization of routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs), data verification exercises, and data quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote the routine analysis, interpretation, visualization, and dissemination of programme data to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and other performance monitoring tools that facilitate programme monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Support institutionalization of routine programme performance reviews at national, district, and facility levels.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Support the monitoring of programme indicators and ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting to donors and the Ministry of Health.
- Coordinate project target-setting exercises and monitor progress toward programme objectives.
- Support programme evaluations, operational research, and implementation science initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, data briefs, and analytical summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
- Provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health, DHMTs, CHAL, and implementing partners on HMIS strengthening, data management, data analytics, and data use.
- Build the capacity of health workers and programme staff in HMIS tools, data quality, routine data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures, guidelines, job aids, and training materials related to HMIS and data use.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with programme technical advisors to ensure routine data are effectively used to improve programme quality and performance.
- Represent EGPAF in national technical working groups, HMIS committees, and stakeholder forums.
- Foster collaboration with government, donors, academic institutions, and implementing partners to strengthen national health information systems.
Operational And Administrative Responsibilities
- Support the development and monitoring of HMIS-related work plans and budgets.
- Maintain accurate programme documentation and records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and national reporting standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Information Systems, Data Science, or another related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related discipline.
Additional Information
Bonus Points If You Have
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), monitoring and evaluation, strategic information, health informatics, or data management.
- At least 3–5 years providing technical leadership or supervisory experience in donor-funded public health programmes.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Ministry of Health HMIS strengthening initiatives.
- Experience working with PEPFAR, CDC, USAID, Global Fund, or other international donor-funded programmes is highly desirable.
- Experience with digital health systems, interoperability, and health data governance is an added advantage.
