- Conduct test rides on motorcycles and test drives on motor vehicles to assess completed repairs and diagnose customer-reported faults and performance issues.
- Move frequently between the Workshop, Service Advisors, and Parts Department to obtain technical information, source parts, and assist in preparing repair quotations.
- Discuss repair orders, maintenance requirements, and diagnostic findings with Service Advisors and customers, providing clear and professional explanations.
- Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults to ensure repair estimates, labour requirements, timelines, and costs are correctly determined.
- Carry out allocated maintenance, servicing, repairs, and diagnostic work on motorcycles and motor vehicles as instructed, including working in standing, bent, kneeling, or elevated positions as required.
- Perform servicing and repair tasks such as oil and fluid changes, lubrication, inspection, replacement, and repair of worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components. Repairs may include the removal and refitment of engines, gearboxes, drivetrains, suspension systems, braking systems, wheels, and related components.
- Correctly utilise diagnostic equipment, specialised tools, and testing devices to identify faults and support effective repair processes.
- Perform all duties in accordance with OEM specifications, warranty requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all diagnostic assessments lead to the most accurate, safe, and cost-effective solution for identified faults or customer concerns.
- Complete service and repair work within manufacturer labour time guidelines and established productivity targets.
- Ensure motorcycles and motor vehicles are returned to customers in a clean, safe, roadworthy, and professional condition following service or repair.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete documentation, including job cards, inspection reports, service records, warranty claims, and repair notes.
- Provide technical guidance, advice, and support to fellow mechanics and apprentices on diagnostic and repair-related matters.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, customers, Service Advisors, suppliers, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Successfully complete all required OEM, technical, safety, and product training within the prescribed timeframes to maintain and enhance technical competence.
