About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrator to join our Seed Testing Laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate registration, tracking, administration, and reporting of seed samples throughout the testing process. This position serves as the administrative hub of the laboratory, supporting analysts and maintaining the integrity of laboratory records and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute work lists to laboratory analysts.
- Accurately capture test results generated by laboratory analysts.
- Verify data completeness and ensure results are correctly recorded before analyst review and sign-off.
- Generate test reports and certificates for review and approval.
- Assist with the archiving and retrieval of laboratory records and historical data.
- Maintain laboratory databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
- Monitor sample turnaround times and communicate progress updates where required.
- Assist with customer queries regarding sample status and report availability.
- Monitor laboratory stationery, labels, forms, and administrative supplies.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining stock of laboratory consumables.
- Support laboratory staff with administrative tasks and special projects as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
- Diploma or Certificate in Administration, Laboratory Management, Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a laboratory administration, quality assurance, or data capture role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong numerical accuracy and data entry skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
