Lead Solaris System Administrator

We are currently looking for an experienced Lead Solaris System Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, optimization, and support of enterprise Oracle Solaris environments and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and support of Oracle Solaris environments, ensuring optimal system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Manage the installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and lifecycle management of Solaris servers and related infrastructure.
• Administer and support Solaris Zones, LDOMs, ZFS file systems, storage management, and virtualization technologies.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement and maintain security controls, access management, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Python, or Perl to streamline administrative and operational processes.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex infrastructure, operating system, hardware, and application-related incidents.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for critical enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with network, database, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and technology enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and escalation support to system administrators while contributing to infrastructure strategy, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/ Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Solaris certification preferred.
• 8+ years of Solaris administration experience.
• 3+ years in a senior or lead infrastructure support role.
• Extensive experience with Oracle Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 environments.
• Experience managing mission-critical enterprise systems.
• Experience in large-scale production environments.
• Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
