Senior Transport Broker | Durban

About the Opportunity

Our client is a respected South African transport and logistics business looking to appoint an experienced Transport Broker who can immediately add value.

This is not a developmental role.

We're looking for a commercially driven professional who already has an established customer base, strong industry relationships and a reliable network of subcontractor transporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and secure profitable freight opportunities.
• Build and grow your own portfolio of customers.
• Source freight opportunities across South Africa.
• Build and maintain a reliable subcontractor transporter network.
• Negotiate profitable transport solutions for both customers and transporters.
• Manage customer relationships from enquiry through to successful delivery.
• Ensure excellent customer service and communication throughout every shipment.
• Achieve agreed monthly revenue and profitability targets.
• Prepare quotations and maintain accurate customer records.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will:

• Bring an existing customer base.
• Bring trusted transporter relationships.
• Generate profitable business from Day One.
• Cover their salary and recruitment investment through new business generated.
• Build a sustainable, profitable transport portfolio.
• Continuously grow revenue and monthly commission earnings.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Transport Broker or Freight Broker.
• Existing portfolio of active transport customers.
• Established network of subcontractor transporters.
• Excellent knowledge of the South African road freight industry.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Commercially astute with strong profit awareness.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong administrative ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: R20,000 basic per month + uncapped commission

Experience Required

• Transport Brokerage: 5+ years (Preferred)
• Road Freight / Logistics: 5+ years (Preferred)
• Business Development: 5+ years (Preferred)

Licence/Certification

• Valid Driver's Licence (Required)

Location

• Durban-based candidates will work from the Durban office.
• Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for an exceptional individual with a proven track record and established network.
