Electronic Pre-Press Operator | Printing & Manufacturing | Johannesburg | R25,637 + Shift Allowance

CK Africa Talent is recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the printing and manufacturing industry for an experienced Electronic Pre-Press Operator to join their Johannesburg operation.

This opportunity is ideal for a technically skilled professional with solid experience in electronic pre-press production, artwork processing, digital workflow management and plate production. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality plate production, efficient workflow management and exceptional service delivery within a fast-paced production environment.

Preference will be given to Employment Equity (EE) candidates, in line with our client's Employment Equity objectives.

• Manage the digital workflow process for artwork received from clients.
• Perform artwork checks and prepare files for print production.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal production departments.
• Produce and deliver high-quality printing plates to the Press Department accurately and on time.
• Perform troubleshooting and fault finding on pre-press equipment and machinery.
• Carry out routine operator maintenance on all pre-press equipment.
• Ensure efficient workflow planning within the Pre-Press Department.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Adhere to quality assurance, health and safety procedures.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the department.
• Work shifts, public holidays and overtime when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Relevant Trade Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within an Electronic Pre-Press environment.
• Experience working with imposition software.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime.

Technical Requirements

• Sound knowledge of electronic pre-press workflow processes.
• Experience with Kodak Workshop, Preps Imposition and InSite software.
• OR experience with Arkitex Client, Preps and Portal software.
• Knowledge of both software environments will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of artwork checking and processing for commercial print production.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat and exposure to graphic design software.
• Knowledge of plate processing systems and plate chemistry.
• Understanding of pre-press quality control procedures.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
