SUMMARY
National Stock Controller
Salary: R 70 000 - R 80 000 (Depending on experience)
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven member to join their team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and optimising national warehousing, inventory control, and freight operations while ensuring stock accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficient supply chain performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in inventory management. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce inventory and freight costs, and ensure seamless warehouse and distribution operations across multiple locations.
POSITION INFO
Key Responsibilities: Define and implement a national strategy for Warehousing, Stock Control, and Freight & Forwarding. Manage all warehouses and stock accuracy, including cycle counts and full stock take planning. Take accountability for inbound, outbound, and cross trade freight operations. Oversee compliance with import/export regulations, customs documentation, and internal shipment controls. Act as escalation point for customs clearing issues and proactively ensure all shipments comply with regulatory requirements. Coordinate and control all packing, consolidation, and dispatch processes nationally. Implement visual management and stock optimization initiatives. Drive inventory and freight cost reduction while maintaining high service levels. Monitor and report on stock variances, risks, and WIP exposures. Provide functional leadership and development for all warehouse and freight personnel. Ensure ERP data integrity for stock movements and freight tracking. Support external and internal audits, including documentation management and year-end stock activities. Key Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Warehousing, Stock Planning, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management. Minimum 5 years' experience in warehousing and logistics with stock responsibility. Minimum 2 years in a management or supervisory role. Solid experience in freight coordination, customs regulations, and export/import documentation. Excellent understanding of ERP systems for inventory control (AX or equivalent). Strong problem-solving and leadership skills. Proven ability to lead and upskill teams.
