Link Build Coordinator

Role Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily scheduling, deployment, and support of fibre installation field teams, ensuring Fibre-to-the-Business (FTTB) link build projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
As the key link between Operations, Field Technicians, Project Managers, Planning teams, and Customers, you will play a critical role in maintaining workflow, resolving operational issues, and delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily scheduling of contractors, technicians, and installation teams to support FTTB link build activities.
- Monitor field technician activities across Gauteng and other operational regions.
- Follow up on delayed or incomplete jobs and reschedule work where necessary.
- Ensure field teams receive accurate job information, site access details, and the required materials and equipment.
- Track installation progress and maintain accurate job status updates within approved systems.
- Identify operational risks and escalate issues that may impact productivity, service delivery, or project deadlines.
- Liaise with Field Technicians, Supervisors, Project Managers, Service Delivery Managers, and Planning teams to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Monitor and manage system access to support uninterrupted operational activities.
- Provide regular progress updates to internal stakeholders and customers regarding installation status, delays, and schedule changes.
- Manage routine stakeholder queries and resolve operational escalations in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate installation bookings, customer communication, and site access arrangements.
- Coordinate quality assurance inspections and arrange corrective actions or reworks where required.
- Maintain accurate records of job allocations, productivity, completed work, and operational performance.
- Prepare and submit operational reports within agreed timelines.
Qualifications Required
- Matric / Grade 12
- Certificate or Diploma in Project Management and/or Certified Fibre Optic Technician qualification will be advantageous.
Work Experience
- 3–5 years' experience coordinating technical teams or contractors within the telecommunications, construction, or a similar operational environment.
- Experience coordinating field service operations and installation schedules.
- Experience working with project tracking, scheduling, or field service management systems.
