Senior Java Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Java Engineer to join a high-performing software development team delivering innovative solutions across a variety of industries. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable applications, and working with modern cloud-ready technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and services.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices solutions.
• Take ownership of features throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions.
• Develop database solutions, optimise queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Support testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Java and object-oriented design principles.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot and microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of JPA, Hibernate, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong testing experience using JUnit or similar frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
