Pharmacy Assistant OR Proffesional Nurse to work in Pharmacy

Glenhaven Retirement Village is seeking a registered Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant or an experienced Professional Nurse to manage the Care Unit Pharmacy and oversee medication management for all residents.

• Manage the Care Unit Pharmacy and oversee medication processes for all residents.
• Dispense medication within the legal scope of practice.
• Prepare and review blister packs for scheduled medication rounds.
• Manage acute medication stock and ensure continuity of medication supply.
• Liaise with doctors, pharmacies, residents, and nursing staff regarding prescriptions and medication requirements.
• Monitor medication storage, stock levels, expiry dates, and implement FIFO stock control.
• Maintain accurate medication records and stock movements.
• Ensure compliance with South African Pharmacy Council regulations, Nursing Council requirements (where applicable), and facility Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report medication discrepancies and participate in quality assurance and audit processes.
• Promote safe medication practices and support nursing staff with medication-related queries.

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Pharmacist Assistant.
• Experience in medication dispensing, blister pack preparation, stock control, and medication management.
• Experience in an aged care, retirement village, hospital, or healthcare environment will be an advantage.

Salary

R26,750 per month (gross, before statutory deductions).
