Laboratory Assistant Tester (X2)

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Grade 12 (Matric) with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science; relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma in Chemistry or Analytical Science) is a strong advantage.
• Previous Laboratory experience and familiar with plant conditions.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a testing, manufacturing, or clinical laboratory environment.
• Strong computer literacy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Main Purpose of the Job

• Collecting, receiving, labelling, and organizing samples for testing while ensuring strict sample integrity
• Cleaning, sterilizing, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments to ensure accurate readout
• Maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Assist with the preparation and evaluation of laboratory samples.
• Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyse A, B and C sugar stream products
• Capturing precise test results and monitoring lab inventory
• Enforcing Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and maintaining a sterile, organized workspace
• To perform any duty assigned by Process Supervisor during Monday stops and whenever the mill is not crushing
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure good housekeeping practices.
• Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Carry out any lawful order given and obey the company SHE rules, Company codes and procedures
• Adhere to SHEQ standards and practice.
