Mechanical Technician (R&D) vacancy in Centurion. Support the R&D team in the design, prototyping, testing, and refinement of new mechanical systems and products. Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a product development lifecycle, from concept to prototype is required. 3D Printing experience.

Requirements

  • Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a product development lifecycle, from concept to prototype.
  • Proficient in the use of 3D printing equipment and additive manufacturing tools.
  • Understanding of materials science, including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in the Defence industry and familiarity with certification processes are advantageous.
  • Computer literacy: Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word; proficient in eDrawings; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is beneficial.
  • Skilled in mechanical assembly, fitting, and fabrication techniques.
  • Capable of interpreting technical drawings and CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Familiarity with basic electronics and instrumentation is considered a plus.
