Sylvania Metals seeks an experienced Fitter with 3 to 5 years in the PGM mining industry to join the Mooinooi Plant maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical fitting expertise, hands-on skills in plant equipment upkeep, and a proven track record in enhancing operational reliability and controlling maintenance costs. Minimum Requirements
- Possession of a minimum N2 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Section 13 and/or Section 26D certification as required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in a related field.
- Holds a Code 8 driver's license with access to reliable personal transportation.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of slurry pumps.
- Ability to remain on standby and work overtime when necessary.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all process equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and planned maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict compliance with the company's Health and Safety Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately capture and analyze breakdown data, maintaining comprehensive equipment history records.
- Serve as a key appointee under the Mine Health and Safety Act, ensuring workplace safety and regulatory adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and report on maintenance effectiveness to management.
- Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures and safety incidents.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and technological advancements relevant to maintenance operations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.
