Take the lead in shaping pharmacy services within a busy private hospital in Witbank. This management opportunity is suited to an experienced manager who enjoys balancing clinical excellence, operational performance, and team leadership while ensuring safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement pharmacy best operating practices relating to medication safety management.
  • Ensure compliance with SAPC, Department of Health, and all legal and professional standards.
  • Drive performance within the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Clinical Pharmacy programmes.
  • Promote compliance with the hospital's quality management system.
  • Achieve customer service excellence and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage pharmacy financial performance and achieve budgeted targets.
  • Control pharmaceutical cost of sales in line with revenue and budget requirements.
  • Implement pharmaceutical product conversions and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance cost-effective patient care while maintaining optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with doctors and the multidisciplinary hospital team.
  • Lead growth, sustainability, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective stock management and inventory control.
  • Provide visible leadership aligned with organisational values and strategic objectives.
  • Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain pharmacy staff while managing team performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Pharm, Dip.Pharm, or B.Sc Pharmacy qualification.
  • Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Proven leadership and people management experience is essential.
  • Relevant experience within a private hospital pharmacy environment.
  • Sound understanding of pharmaceutical legislation, hospital operating structures, and multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and stock management experience.
  • Knowledge of medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and clinical pharmacy principles.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
