Patient Services Manager

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Patient Services Manager to oversee patient administration, case management, and revenue optimisation within a private healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, exceptional patient service, and effective management of clinical coding and funder processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Patient Services Department.
• Manage patient admissions, authorisations, billing, and discharge processes.
• Ensure accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding to optimise revenue management.
• Liaise with medical schemes and other healthcare funders regarding authorisations and accounts.
• Lead and develop the Patient Services team to maintain high service standards.
• Monitor departmental performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare legislation, policies, and quality standards.
• Prepare operational reports and analyse departmental performance indicators.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with Anatomy and Physiology qualifications.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• ICD-10 and CPT Coding knowledge is essential.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar role within a private healthcare environment.
• Advanced certification in ICD-10 and CPT Coding will be advantageous.
• Sound understanding of patient administration, medical scheme processes, and hospital billing.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in hospital information systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
