Registered Nurse ICU Trained

An opportunity is available for a dedicated ICU-trained Professional Nurse to join a specialised critical care team in Johannesburg East. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary environment focused on clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within the ICU.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
• Administer prescribed medication and specialised treatments.
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with doctors and the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, quality assurance, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
• Postgraduate Qualification in Critical Care Nursing Science.
• Previous experience working within an Intensive Care Unit.
• Sound knowledge of critical care nursing principles and practices.
• Experience in the management of ventilated patients will be advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and decision-making skills.
