The City of Metter is accepting applications for a Public Works Director. Minimum

Qualifications Include

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Minimum of six years previous public works experience including at least two years in utilities.
• Completed a 90-hour Public Works Management certification program.

Applications are available on the city website (metter-candler.com) or at City Hall at 49 South Rountree Street, Metter, Georgia . Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a. m. until 5:00 p. m. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled

The pay range for this position is $76,218 annually to $115,976 annually.

All job applicants being considered for employment shall be required to pass a drug and alcohol

screening test prior to being hired.
