Artisan Assistant - Mechanical (I Hay band)

Job Advert Summary

Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman the successful candidate will provide assistance to Artisans on daily functions.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or equivalent
• 1year working experience in a welding workshop environment
• A valid driver’s license will serve as an advantage with ability to pass Randwater K53

Primary Duties

• Assisting Artisan with maintenance tasks and inspections
• Loading and unloading of tools and equipment on to the transport
• Painting and cleaning structures, pumps and floors
• Inspect and repair all mechanical plant/ equipment on site
• Work as determined by foreman
• To work overtime when there is an urgent task on your area of work
• To ensure that all required defects and work instructions are completed and handed in within two days after completion of tasks
• To report all plant defects that relate to health and safety
• To ensure all safety precautions are followed when working with tools and equipment.
• Security and control over allocated and Artisan tools
• To ensure access control system adhered to.

• Welding knowledge

• Ability to do minor welding repairs
