Millwright - Supervisory Role - Rietvlei, Gauteng

CK Africa Talent (Pty) Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client, a leading manufacturing plant in Gauteng, for an experienced Millwright with supervisory experience. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing mechanical, electrical, and PLC maintenance while managing a small team of technicians and fitters.

The successful candidate will ensure high equipment uptime, maintain compliance with safety standards, and mentor junior staff. Competitive salary: R33,000 + Medical Aid (Optional) + Provident Fund.

Main Purpose of the Job

To maintain the entire factory electrical and mechanical operations while achieving 95% equipment availability. The role includes hands-on maintenance, fault-finding, and supervising a team of technicians and fitters.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections in designated areas in line with maintenance schedules

• Perform repairs and maintenance on all plant equipment

• Fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical circuits and systems

• Carry out approved electrical installations

• Support Boilermakers and Fitters where required

• Execute planned maintenance in accordance with job cards

• Maintain tools, ensuring proper use and cleanliness

• Contribute to plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Trade Tested Millwright

• 4–5 years’ experience within a manufacturing/production environment

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity

• Strong technical experience in:

  • PLC systems

  • Hydraulics

  • Pneumatics

• Computer literacy (MS Office)

• Valid driver’s licence and own transport

• Ability to work under pressure in a production environment
