Ecommerce Engineer / Head of Ecommerce Technology

Our client is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Engineer to take ownership of its ecommerce technology landscape while providing strategic leadership within the IT department. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded technology professional who can combine strong technical expertise with business strategy to drive digital growth and deliver high-performing ecommerce solutions.

Requirements:

• BSc Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (non-negotiable).
• Extensive senior-level ecommerce engineering experience.
• Strong commercial understanding and strategic thinking ability.
• Proven leadership capability.
• Experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or similar ecommerce platforms.
• Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
• Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Backend development experience using Node.js, PHP, or Python.
• Experience developing REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Git version control experience.
• Understanding of website optimisation, technical SEO, and scalable ecommerce architecture
