Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our client's growing engineering consultancy in Umhlanga. The successful candidate will contribute to a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects while taking ownership of design, project delivery and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering designs across industrial and building sectors.
• Perform structural modelling, analysis and detailed engineering calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and engineering best practice.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and quality assessments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Lead projects with minimal supervision from planning through construction.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and programme requirements.

Requirements

• BSc Eng or BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 5 years or more of structural engineering experience.
• Professional registration with ECSA or close to achieving registration.
• Strong understanding of structural design using various construction materials.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and structural design software including Tekla, Prokon, Masterseries or Robot.
