SUMMARY

A heavy engineering manufacturing concern is seeking a Procurement Manager for their Plant in Pretoria East with minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a Production / Manufacturing / Engineering Environment.

Buys supplies and materials - Source, negotiate with suppliers, purchase, track orders and collaborate with Project Teams, Logistics and Finances.

Grade 12 and Diploma or Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Logistics / Purchasing)

Import / Export background is essential

Supply Chain KnowledgeMS Office and SYSPRO or any other appropriate ERP software

Excellent communication skills

Critical thinking and excellent Negotiation skillsEffective time management / work under pressure and meet deadlines

Good problem solving skills

POSITION INFO

Duties Include: Buy supplies and materials - Source, negotiate with suppliers, purchase, track orders and collaborate with Project Teams, Logistics, and Finances - Ensure a reliable and cost effective supply chain to meet production needs - Source, negotiate price and terms, and purchase equipment, goods and services (local and import) - Source raw materials, components and other supplies - Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers - Manage quality, reliability and timeliness of delivery - Monitor Supplier Delivery Performance - Minimize cost and risks - Handle imports and freight quotes - Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand - Review and submit forecasts
