LOGISTICS MANAGER (Automotive Component Manufacturing)- Pretoria

An automotive component manufacturing company in Pretoria has a position available for a Logistics Manager.

AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or similar
  • 8-10 years’ working experience in Logistics in the Automotive Industry ESSENTIAL
  • 5 years’ experience at Management Level
  • Working experience with Just in Time
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel
  • Good commercial, operational & statutory knowledge
  • Knowledge of Logistics Management
  • Knowledge of IATF
  • Knowledge of ERP & other software

Duties

  • Oversee the Production controlling and logistics operations.
  • Receive customer demand and verify accuracy.
  • Support purchasing to plan raw material requirements based on demand and in line with production requirements
  • Support the full supply chain of import/export as required.
  • Ensure on time in full deliveries of raw materials by working in close collaboration with Purchasing.
  • Support the project team in planning of Raw Material requirements as well as stock builds run in/run out programmes specific to new project launches / run outs of existing projects or running engineering changes.
  • Ensure incoming raw material quality procedures are followed as per internal procedure.
  • Ensure maintenance of required finished good stock levels in line with business objectives.
  • Ensure on time in full deliveries to customers.
  • Manage and lead Production planning and Data control
  • Re-engineering / Optimization in order to improve the process & make it efficient
  • Ensure real time tracking of data and visualization, escalation as necessary
  • Manage 5S and ensure Safety
  • Ensure real time invoicing and record keeping
  • Study & introduce continual cost optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure training and development of team members.
